Talk Trash City Presenter Application

Submissions will be judged based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance to an existing urban waste management challenge

  • Clarity of the idea and pitch

  • Scalability of the proposed business

  • Thoroughness (considerations of timeline, implementation procedures, cost, social obstacles)

While not a requirement, preference may be given to pitches that provoke a new way of viewing an old problem or that are working in underrepresented areas of the waste stream.

Looking forward to the day when this is not the norm. Single use disposable items make up so much of our street litter. The City’s employees empty these bins: note the sign, no household or business waste. But everything in this bin came from a business! Once the waste is in the public realm, it becomes the City’s responsibility, at great cost.
